RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current
Racing Rules of Sailing.
ENTRIES
Competitors may enter by delivering or FAXING (949-673-5324) a completed
entry form to Lido Isle Yacht Club (701 Via Lido Soud, Newport Beach,
CA 92663) before skippers meeting on the day of the regatta or series.
Entries of skippers under the age of 18 must be signed by
their parent or legal guardian .
NOTICE
TO COMPETITORS
Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board
located near the door to the Lido Board Room.
CHANGES
TO SAILING INSTRUCTIONS & SIGNALS MADE ASHORE
The Race Committee may change the Sailing Instructions by notice
in writing or by verbal instruction.
Signals made ashore will be displayed from the flagpole located
at the Lido Tower .
When the "L" flag is flown, skippers are to come to the tower area
or committee boat for announcements.
SCHEDULE
The warning signal for the first race will be as stated in the Notice
of Race. Subsequent races will be held as soon as possible after
the end of the previous race or according to the Notice. The order
of races shall be stated at the Skippers Meeting or from the Tower
by the Race Committee.

RACING
AREA & COURSES
The racing area will be the waters of Newport Bay as shown on the
Lido Isle Yacht Club RACE COURSE CHART.
Courses are described and listed by number on the RACE COURSE CHART
and will be displayed in the Tower.
All marks are to be left to port unless otherwise indicated.
STARTING
AND FINISHING LINES; STARTING SYSTEM
The starting and finishing lines will be between two orange markers
or orange buoys.
Races shall be started in accordance with Rule 26 except that the
Warning signal shall be made 3 minutes prior to the start of each
class. The warning signal for each succeeding class shall be made
with or after the starting signal of the preceding class.
A courtesy signal may be made by the Race Committee for skippers
to synchronize their watches with the Race Committee.

TIME
LIMIT
Unless otherwise stated, and excepting the Summer Nite Flite races,
the time limit for the first yacht in each class to finish will
be sundown. Boats finishing more than 15 minutes after the first
boat that sails the course finishes will be scored DNF. This changes
RRS 35.
PROTESTS
Protests shall be delivered to Race Committee within 30 minutes
after the Race Committee burgee has been lowered from the staff.
Hearings will be held as soon as possible after racing in Lido Board
Room.
SCORING
The Low Point System of Appendix A of the racing rules will apply
except that the number of races scheduled and number required to
be completed to constitute a series shall be stated in The Notice
of Race.
TROPHIES
Trophies will be awarded in accordance with the notice of race and
invitation for the event.
