Lido Isle Junior Yacht Club Board
The LIJYC Board is a multi-facet group of distinguished sailor and accomplished young students. The LIYC is very appreciative of all the assistance and contributions to the Senior Board. The Jr. Board helped decorate for the Halloween Party and helped with setting up for the Friday Night Barbecues. They are also responsible for running the Friday Night Adult Races. They assist with numerous regattas.Chris Overstreet is the Sr/Jr. Board Liaison.
JAMES LITTLEFAIR, COMMODORE is an 8th grade student at Carden Hall and has been accepted at Mater Dei for next fall.He plays football, basketball and is working toward his black belt in Taekwondo. James is interested in Sports Broadcasting, is an avid USC Fan and is interested in the Presidential Campaign.He has met Rudy Guillani. He has won the Dede Sorenson Memorial Trophy For Fortitude Under Adversity and the LIYC Sportsmanship Trophy for Finest Example of Sportsmanship.
JACKIE CAPPELLINI, VICE COMMODORE is an 8th grade honor roll student at Ensign Intermediate School. She plays tennis and soccer and won First Place in the Bronze League and has moved up to Silver League in Club Soccer. Jackie is on the Ensign School Soccer Team and Track and Field Teams. She is actively involved in Youth Ministry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Jackie won the Junior Director’s Trophy in Novice Class, First Place in C1’s in Sir Joseph Porter Regatta, Sixth Place in Gold Cup. This was her third year to participate in Sabot Nationals.
FRANCESCA CAPPELLINI, REAR COMMODORE is an 8th grade honor roll student at Ensign Intermediate School. She is on the Student council and the WEB Club, which helps students that are new to the school or have problems. She is on the school Soccer Team and the Track and Field Teams. In Club Soccer she won First Place in Bronze Division and has moved up to the Silver Division. Francesca plays tennis and is involved in Youth Ministry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She won the Commodore Kingsley Trophy for the Most Distinguished Girl in the LIJYC and won the Commodore Benedict Trophy for Best Performance in Bronze Flight for the LIYC and has moved up to Silver flight. She has sailed in Sabot National three years.
ADDISON MACLAREN, JR. STAFF COMMODORE is a freshman at Newport Harbor High School.He runs Track and Cross Country.He won the Peter Grodach Memorial Trophy for best performance in Iron Fleet at Sabot Nationals and the Commodore Haskell Trophy for Best Performance in Silver Flight in Sabot Nationals. Addison has won the Rick Marsellus Memorial Trophy for the Jr. Boy Most Distinguished, the Commodore Niblo Starboard Yard Trophy for the Jr. Most Helpful to the Jr. Program. And the Junior Director’s Perpetual for low point in Sabot A’s, B’s and C3’s.
ANDREW MATHER, TREASURER is an 8th grade student at Pegasus School.He is an avid tennis player and plays at the Palisades Tennis Club.He has had the distinction of going to Sabot Nationals five times and has won the Lido Loyalty Trophy for the Jr. Sailor who Sails Most for the LIYC three times.He has won the Junior Director’s Trophy for Low Point in Sabot B’s and Novicesand the Staff Commodore Pickens Trophy for Best LIJYC Low Point Junior Commodore’s Cup Regatta.
GRACE TERRY, SECRETARY is a 7th grade student at Ensign Middle School and is a member of the Snowboarding Club.She is an avid dancer and dances 12 hrs. a wk. and does Tap, Ballet, and Jazz.She has been dancing for 10 yrs. Grace recently went to a dance competition in Kansas City.She has won the Goldie Joseph Perpetual for Jr. Sabot C1 in the All Girl Regatta and the Staff Commodore Hinshaw Trophy for Best Performance in Sabot II North and Sabot II Invitational Championship.
NICOLE ZIELINSKI, PORT CAPTAIN is an 8th grade student at Carden Hall.She has been playing soccer for six years and does gymnastics. In 2007 Nicole won the Peter Grodach Memorial Trophy for the Best Performance in Iron Flight at Junior Sabot Nationals.
MAGGIE ANN RE, ASST. PORT CAPTAIN is a 7th grade student at Pegasus School.She is interested in Photography, Geography and Graphic Arts.Maggie teaches a kindergarten class at St. Andrews Church and is a volunteer in a Literacy Class.She won the Goldie JosephPerpetual Trophy for the C1 Sabot low point winner in the All Girl Regatta.
MAXSON RICHLEY, RACE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN is an 8th grade student at Ensign Middle School.He surfs, and plays Volleyball and Basketball.He has sailed as crew for the last two years on “Amante” in the Ensenada Race and manned a winch and trimmed the sails.“Amante” won in their class and was the Best Boat from Newport.Maxson has won the Commodore Lockney Leadership Perpetual Trophy for Best Leadership, Corinthian attitude and responsibility showed by a skipper in the LIYC Summer Sailing Program. He sailed in Gold Fleet at Sabot Nationals and won the Admiral Sir Joseph Porter Perpetual for Best Performance in Sabot Nationals from LIYC.

He is a tennis player and plays at Palisades Tennis Club and is interested in Robotics.James has won the Lido Loyalty Trophy for the Junior member Who Sails Most for LIYC, has gone to Sabot Nationals and won first place in the Sir Joseph Porter Regatta.
AMELIA THOMAS, ASST. RACE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN is a 7th grade student at Carden Hall. She is a golfer and has played in Father/Daughter Tournaments. Amelia also rides horses and competes in horse shows.She has won 4th Place in Sea Champs and 5th Place in the Sir Joseph Porter Regatta.
KAITLYN COSENZA, CFJ FLEET CAPTAIN is a 7th grade honor roll studentat Mariners Christian School.She plays tennis, is on the school volleyball team and loves water and snow skiing.Kaitlyn is involved in the St. Andrews Youth Group and has won the Bronze Award in Girl Scouts.She is an avid traveler and has traveled extensively in Europe.In the Fall, she will be going to Spain with the Spanish Club. In 2005, Kaitlynwon the LIYC Loyalty Trophy and in 2006 she won the youngest Laser Sailor/Crew in the Flight of the Lasers.She has won the NHYC Fall Cup, Tuesday Nite Flights, Sir Joseph Porter Regatta and a 3rd Place in the Commodore’s Regatta.
GRANT DUNCAN, SABOT FLEET CAPTAIN is a 6th grade student at Holy Trinity Catholic School and is an altar server.He plays in two basketball leagues, plays football,, baseball , skateboards and surfs. Grant has played blues and classical piano for 5 yrs and has won three certificates of merit. Grant is a first year Boy Scout and has earned six merit badges. He has won the Commodore Palmquist Trophy for the Most Improved Racing Skipper and the Lido Isle Association Trophy for the First Year Skipper Who Shows Greatest Improvement.
MAX ZIELINSKI, TROPHY CHAIR is a 7th grade student at Carden Hall.He plays basketball and baseball and skateboards and surfs.He has won the Junior Director’s Perpetual for Sabot C1, Second Place in Tuesday Nite Flights, and Third Place in the Mid Summer Regatta.This is Max’s second year on the Junior Yacht Club Board.
